The Secretary of State entrusts the Secretariat’s channels with a direct message on middle schools’ participation in the event: “I accept the teaching staff’s decision, although I don’t agree with it.”
The issue of middle schools’ participation in Sport in Fiera continues to dominate the debate, and Secretary of State Teodoro Lonfernini has returned to the subject with a direct statement, delivered via a video posted on the Secretariat’s social media channels.
In the message, the Secretary reaffirms his position on the decision to limit participation to first-year classes only: “Regarding the debate on middle schools’ participation in Sport in Fiera, I reaffirm my position: I accept the teaching staff’s decision to limit participation to first-year classes only, although I don’t agree with it. We firmly believe that sport is a fundamental good practice for all students, not just for those taking their first steps but also for those who already practice it with passion.”
On the relationship between school and sporting activity, the Secretariat sums it up this way: sport and school must move forward hand in hand for the wellbeing and growth of young people. And with an eye already on the future, the post states that efforts will continue to ensure that next year’s edition once again involves the entire school community.
