Enrico Meyer is the new academic director of the Istituto Musicale Sammarinese for the 2026/2027 academic year. The appointment was decided by the Board of Directors, on a proposal from the Presidency. Meyer will serve as operational coordinator of teaching activities and will also chair the Academic Council.
A pianist and teacher, Meyer has won numerous national competition prizes and built a long concert career in Italy and abroad, alongside recording and radio work carried out in several countries. His curriculum also includes leadership roles, including serving as director of the “G. Lettimi” Conservatory in Rimini and as a member of the evaluation board of the “Maderna-Lettimi” Conservatory.
Meanwhile, the Teaching Staff Board has also chosen the coordinators of the institute’s internal departments: Angelo Guidi for Strings (plucked instruments), Lea Canini for Strings (bowed instruments), Lorena Chiarelli for Piano, Bianca Sartor for Wind and Percussion, Danilo Pasolini for Theory and Sight-Reading, and Alessandra Tosi for MusicaGiocando. The coordinators will join the Academic Council.
The appointments mark a further step in implementing the reform of the Istituto Musicale Sammarinese, introduced under Delegated Decree no. 104 of 2025. The transitional phase now calls for completing the institute’s regulations and governing bodies, as well as preparing the future Three-Year Strategic Planning Document, which will set out the institute’s goals and development while building on more than fifty years of activity.
