San Marino’s historic centre is preparing to host the “Chronotitano Hill Climb – The Trailer,” the official preview of Grand Prix week for the Red Bull Grand Prix of San Marino and Riviera di Rimini. The event is set for Tuesday, September 8, at 5:30 pm, bringing together motorcycling and cycling along the winding streets up to Piazza della Libertà.
Taking centre stage will be Marco Bezzecchi and Enea Bastianini, alongside former national cycling team coach Davide Cassani, Sky Sport commentator Mauro Sanchini, and multiple medal-winning cyclist Letizia Paternoster. The participants will simulate an individual time trial, which will also be used to produce a promotional video clip for the future Chronotitano Hill Climb — a team-based uphill time trial dedicated to MotoGP teams, set to debut in 2027.
The initiative stems from a collaboration between the Secretariat of State for Sport, the Emilia-Romagna Region, Misano World Circuit, MotoGP and Sky Sport MotoGP, and falls within the year San Marino holds the title of European Community of Sport.
“Bringing MotoGP into the heart of our capital is a strategic choice with strong visual and promotional impact,” said Secretary of State for Sport Rossano Fabbri, who noted that the project aims to combine the speed of two-wheeled racing with the endurance of cycling, showcasing San Marino’s monumental heritage before international television cameras.
At 6 pm in Piazza della Libertà, fans will also have the chance to meet the athletes, take photos and collect autographs. Motor racing week will thus kick off right from San Marino’s historic centre, even before the green light drops on the Misano circuit.
