A busy day of work for the Internal Affairs Committee (Commissione Affari Interni) of the Grand and General Council, which tackled a wide range of issues spanning from justice to education.
The session opened with remarks from the Secretary of State for Justice, Stefano Canti, on proposed amendments to the Code of Criminal Procedure. The Committee also reviewed the implementation status of several measures previously approved by the Council, including the introduction of the crime of surrogate motherhood, legislation protecting people with disabilities from discrimination, and rules governing internal foster care and unaccompanied foreign minors.
The Secretary of State for Education, Teodoro Lonfernini, also addressed the Committee, providing an update on the pilot five-day school week in middle schools, the reorganization of school leadership staff, and initiatives concerning minors’ use of social media and digital platforms.
On this last point, Domani Motus Liberi reiterated the need to pair any restrictions with a broader digital education strategy, calling for clear rules on young people’s use of online tools.
