The Orti Borghesi gardens in the City will be transformed into a stage lit by hundreds of candles for two evenings dedicated to music. On 10 August and 8 September, the “By Candlelight” format returns, organized by Rimini Classica with the support of the Secretariat of State for Tourism.
The first date, scheduled for Monday 10 August at 9 pm, will bring to the stage “From Bach to Led Zeppelin”, a musical journey spanning genres and eras, from classical music to symphonic rock. The second concert, set for Tuesday 8 September, will instead be dedicated to “A Tribute to Morricone and Film Music”.
Admission is free, with mandatory booking through the Eventbrite platform.
As stated in the press release, “the evening, with free admission and mandatory booking via the Eventbrite portal, will offer the audience an exceptional and timeless musical journey, capable of crossing eras and styles, from classical music to symphonic rock.”
The 10 August programme will feature music by Astor Piazzolla, along with transcriptions and arrangements blending orchestral language with contemporary sound, culminating in the great classics of Led Zeppelin, reinterpreted in an orchestral and chamber-music style.
“The fusion of classical instruments and modern sounds will create a unique experience, capable of moving both lovers of classical music and rock fans alike,” the statement emphasizes.
Organizers are also banking on the special atmosphere of the location. “The Orti Borghesi, a precious gem of San Marino City’s historic centre, will be transformed for two evenings (10 August and 8 September) into a magical stage, illuminated by hundreds of candles. The intimate setting and chosen location will make the evening a special occasion to experience music as a sensory and collective experience, a bridge between eras and styles,” the statement continues.
The Secretary of State for Tourism, Federico Pedini Amati, highlighted the value of the initiative for the region: “The ‘By Candlelight’ concert – from Bach to Led Zeppelin – represents an extraordinary opportunity for the Republic of San Marino, staging an event that links different musical languages, from the classical tradition to symphonic rock, in a unique and spectacular setting such as that offered by the Orti Borghesi. The choice to light the evening with a multitude of electric candles turns the musical experience into a moment of shared beauty and enchantment, with the power to attract a diverse audience and strengthen our country’s tourism offering, combining artistic quality, the enhancement of local sites, and the ability to move people.”
