Caught in the garage, he attacks father and son: arrested in Rimini

A young Cameroonian man was arrested after being discovered inside a private garage and reacting violently, punching both the owner and his son who came to help.

He was caught inside a private garage, and when he was asked to explain himself, he responded with a punch to the face. When the owner’s son stepped in to defend his father, he too was attacked. This is what happened on the morning of Monday, 17 August in Marina Centro, Rimini, where State Police arrested a young Cameroonian man on charges of attempted aggravated robbery and aggravated assault.

The response began at around 11:35 am, when the police headquarters’ operations centre received several calls reporting screams coming from the garage area of a residential building. A patrol car from the General Prevention and Public Assistance Office was dispatched to the scene.

When officers arrived, they found three people involved in a scuffle and stepped in to separate them. Subsequent investigations revealed what had happened shortly before.

According to police reconstruction, the owner of one of the garages had gone down to retrieve some personal belongings when he noticed that the shutter was open and some of his items had been moved. He then discovered the young man inside the space.

When asked to explain himself, the man reportedly reacted by punching the owner in the face. Hearing the shouting, the owner’s son rushed in to help his father, but he too was repeatedly attacked.

The altercation was brought to an end when officers arrived. The young man was restrained and taken to police headquarters on Via II Giugno for further procedures. At the conclusion of the process, he was arrested for attempted aggravated robbery and aggravated assault and transferred to the Rimini Circondariale prison.
