Rimini and San Marino mourn sudden death of Maurizio Zanotti

Maurizio Zanotti, 69, who led the Ente Cassa di Faetano and served on Banca di San Marino's board, died suddenly at his Rimini home.

Rimini and San Marino are mourning the loss of Maurizio Zanotti, who died at the age of 69 after being struck by a sudden illness. According to San Marino RTV, he passed away during the night at his home in Rimini.

Zanotti was a well-known figure in the Republic of San Marino thanks to his long-standing involvement in banking and philanthropic institutions. From 2011 to 2019, he served as president of the Ente Cassa di Faetano. Before that, he had been a member of the Board of Auditors at Banca di San Marino, first as a member from 2004 to 2007 and later as its chairman from 2008 to 2010.

He is survived by his wife and daughters Laura and Silvia.

The Board of Directors and the trustee of the Ente Cassa di Faetano remembered him as a person of “great stature, deep humanity and sensitivity,” highlighting the important role he played at the helm of the Foundation. The institution expressed its closeness to the family, joining in the mourning felt by the whole San Marino community.
