The Institute for Social Security (ISS) and the Kiwanis Club San Marino are joining forces to support families facing economic hardship. A cooperation agreement has been signed providing for the periodic donation of grocery vouchers for households with minors already being followed by the ISS’s Children’s Services Unit.
The agreement was signed by ISS Director General Claudio Vagnini and Kiwanis Club San Marino President Mihaela Anghel, in the presence of the Head of the Children’s Services Unit, William Giardi. The grocery vouchers, purchased through fundraising campaigns organised by Kiwanis, can be redeemed at businesses across the Republic. The Children’s Services Unit will be responsible for identifying beneficiaries and managing distribution, ensuring confidentiality and the protection of personal data.
The initiative aims to provide immediate support for everyday expenses, while also strengthening the broader support pathways for families followed by social services. The agreement, which takes effect immediately upon signing and has an indefinite duration, reinforces a partnership focused on safeguarding children’s wellbeing and supporting the most vulnerable households.
“This agreement is the result of a process of careful planning and coordination, aimed at giving a clear and stable framework to an important form of assistance,” said ISS Administrative Director Manuel Canti. “It allows us to strengthen cooperation between the ISS and an active community association. We thank Kiwanis Club San Marino for its willingness and attentiveness to social needs that require prompt, coordinated responses.”
For Kiwanis President Mihaela Anghel, “with this agreement we aim to make our contribution more stable and structured, offering grocery vouchers that can provide immediate and flexible help. Working with the ISS allows us to entrust distribution to a competent service, capable of identifying genuine needs and protecting the privacy of the families involved.”
ISS Director General Claudio Vagnini also emphasised the value of the initiative: “Behind every grocery voucher is a family going through a difficult time, and often there are children and young people who need to be supported with discretion and respect. That’s why initiatives like this carry a value that goes beyond the economic aspect — they represent a tangible closeness that reaches into people’s everyday lives.”
