Over €9,000 raised for InSiamo and Oceano Blu. That is the result of the fourth edition of “Il senso di ogni cosa” (“The meaning of everything”), the charity event promoted by the Secretariat of State for Tourism together with the Tourism Office, under the patronage of the Congress of State of the Republic of San Marino.
The initiative, held on Friday, September 11 at Parco Ausa in Dogana, drew large numbers of families for a day of games, entertainment, meetings and music. The event was made possible thanks to the contribution of 97 private sponsors: 47 providing goods and services, and 50 offering monetary donations. During the closing conference, a symbolic plaque of thanks was presented to the volunteer associations involved.
“The event was a concrete opportunity for solidarity, with funds raised going to InSiamo, which supports children affected by oncohematological conditions and their families, and Oceano Blu, active in the fight against rare diseases and in scientific research, with particular focus on the CAMK2B genetic disorder,” the statement reads.
After covering the costs of organizing the event, the remaining sum of €8,000 will be split between the two associations. In addition, more than €1,000 was raised through a charity raffle, thanks to prizes provided by Benetton, Chicco and Palestra Energia.
The presidents of the two associations, Andrea Cecchetti and Andrea Nardoni, highlighted the importance of research and family support. “Research in pediatric oncohematology is the beating heart of an ongoing commitment: without study there is no cure, without cure there is no hope. Every act of solidarity, every contribution collected, becomes a seed of knowledge and a concrete possibility for new therapies.”
“Parents need not only material help, but also emotional support — to feel the closeness that gives them the courage to continue such a difficult journey. The strength of a community that comes together is essential,” they added.
The day also featured the talk “Oltre la cura” (“Beyond care”), moderated by Simona Ventura, bringing together doctors, volunteers and association representatives to discuss pediatric oncology and children’s health. The event closed with a free concert by Fabrizio Moro, marking the San Marino stop of his tour Non ho paura di niente (“I’m not afraid of anything”).
“This fourth edition of the charity initiative, which I hope will become a permanent fixture, has shown that solidarity is a deeply rooted value in our community,” said the Secretary of State for Tourism, Federico Pedini Amati. “The extraordinary participation of families, citizens and associations turned Parco Ausa into a place of celebration and reflection, but above all into a genuine engine of hope. This is where we want to start, and we intend to move forward with determination.”
