The precautionary measure against Salvatore Caronia, general manager of Giochi del Titano, has been revoked. Caronia himself announced the news in a statement released after his questioning as part of the recent judicial case involving the company that manages San Marino’s gaming hall.
“I am referring to the recent judicial developments that have involved me personally, in order to confirm that today, immediately after my questioning, the precautionary measure imposed on me was revoked directly by the Commissari Inquirenti [investigating magistrates],” Caronia explains in the statement.
The general manager says he had the opportunity, during the questioning, to clarify his position. “On that occasion, I was indeed able to fully set out the reasons supporting the complete correctness of my conduct.”
Caronia went on to reaffirm his trust in the judicial process and his determination to clarify his position as the proceedings continue: “I trust in the work of the judiciary and in the possibility of demonstrating — as the case progresses — my total and absolute compliance with the rules, even in this complex matter.”
The same statement also includes a clarification regarding his role at the helm of Giochi del Titano. Caronia maintains that his suspension from his duties was a voluntary decision on his part.
“Contrary to what has been reported in the press, I wish to clarify that I voluntarily suspended myself from my functions, with the ultimate aim of protecting not only myself but also the interests of the company, which I have led with dedication and commitment for almost twenty years, safeguarding the interests of the State as shareholder in full compliance with the law,” Caronia concludes.
