Colombini Group Acquires 70% Stake in Snaidero

The San Marino-based furniture group finalizes a deal for a majority stake in the historic Italian kitchen manufacturer, aiming to build a strong Italian furniture hub.

Colombini Group takes a new step in its growth strategy, signing an agreement to acquire 70% of Snaidero Group, the historic Italian industrial group specializing in high-end kitchen manufacturing. The deal is expected to close in the coming days.

The acquisition includes Snaidero and Snaidero Projects UK, the English company specializing in contract projects for the British market. According to the statement, “this operation represents an important strategic step in Colombini Group’s growth path and is part of the project to build and consolidate an Italian, family-rooted furniture hub capable of leveraging brands, industrial expertise, production capacity and presence on international markets.”

The addition of Snaidero will allow the San Marino-based group to complete its offering in the kitchen sector, strengthening its presence across different market segments. “Snaidero will complete Colombini Group’s brand architecture, significantly reinforcing the Group’s kitchen range and expanding its footprint across complementary market tiers: Snaidero in the high-end segment, Febal Casa in the premium segment with a Total Home Furniture offering, and Colombini Casa in the value segment.”

The deal also aims to strengthen the group’s international presence and capitalize on the industrial expertise built up by Snaidero. The statement notes that the acquisition will make it possible to “leverage Snaidero’s manufacturing know-how, gain access to a highly specialized local supplier district, and acquire additional production capacity to support the growth plan.”

Colombini Group also announced investments in the production site in Majano, in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. “The Group confirms its intention to invest in the brand’s development, in upgrading and modernizing the production lines at the Majano plant, in product innovation, and in commercial and marketing activities to support growth in Italy and abroad.”

The group also stresses that Snaidero will retain its own identity and its ties to the local area. “Snaidero Group will retain its brand identity, its distinctive positioning and its ties to the Friuli region, elements that are an integral part of the value of this operation. Integration will focus on unlocking commercial and industrial synergies, while preserving brand autonomy and valuing the expertise of the people who have contributed to the company’s history and reputation.”

Colombini Group’s Chairman and Chief Design Officer, Emanuel Colombini, described the deal as a strategic milestone for the company’s future: “This operation marks an important step in Colombini Group’s growth journey and in our long-term vision: to build an Italian, industrially rooted furniture hub founded on strong brands, manufacturing expertise and the ability to cover complementary market segments. Snaidero is a historic brand, recognized in Italy and abroad, with a heritage of product, design and expertise that we intend to enhance. As the Colombini Group, part of our mission is to preserve the history of Design and spread its culture — which is why our goal is to grow these brands while respecting their identities, their local roots and the people who represent their value.”

CEO Giovanni Battista Vacchi also commented on the deal, saying that “Snaidero’s entry into Colombini Group allows us to significantly strengthen our kitchen business unit, completing our offering in the upper segment of the market and expanding our international presence. This operation has a clear industrial rationale: we want to support the development of Snaidero and our other companies through targeted investments, by leveraging commercial and production synergies, and by creating the conditions for solid, sustainable long-term growth. The autonomy of the companies and their distribution networks will be fully preserved, as we believe this will help generate further value.”

The statement concludes by emphasizing that, for customers, dealers, suppliers and partners, the operation represents a guarantee of operational continuity and reliability, while also opening up “new development opportunities thanks to the complementary nature of the brands, greater industrial capacity, and the strengthening of the Group’s international presence.”
