A direct clash awaits the San Marino Academy Under-22 side, set to take on Pennarossa on Saturday at 3pm at the Montecchio stadium. The two teams are separated by just two points in the standings and share the same goal difference.
Pennarossa arrive in good form, having collected four points in their last three league outings and advanced in the Coppa Titano. Cancelli’s Academy side, on the other hand, are looking to snap a negative run and rediscover the consistency they showed at the start of the season.
Taking stock of the situation is Christian Delvecchio, who sounds confident about the team’s progress: «In recent weeks we’ve been finding our way back to how we started the season, both in terms of consistency in training — which was inevitably disrupted during the international breaks — and from a mental standpoint».
Waiting on the other side will be an opponent that has scored in all eight of its league matches so far this season, but which also boasts the league’s most porous defence.
«As a group, we need to focus on staying positive and brave, never giving up, without letting ourselves be influenced by whichever opponent we face each time», the blue-and-white full-back stressed.
For Delvecchio, the championship also represents an important growth opportunity for the Academy’s young players, who are called upon to measure themselves against more experienced opponents and adapt to a higher level of competition compared to last season.
Kick-off is set for Saturday at 3pm in Montecchio, with free live coverage on Titani.tv.
