Rights beyond borders: Attiva-Mente joins European conference in Brussels

Attiva-Mente will take part in the European Day of Persons with Disabilities in Brussels, from 2 to 4 December, focusing on mobility and rights protection.

Travelling or moving to another country can mean losing essential support or facing new barriers. These are the issues at the heart of the European conference that Attiva-Mente will attend in Brussels from 2 to 4 December.

Promoted by the European Commission and the European Disability Forum (EDF), the European Day of Persons with Disabilities will bring together organisations, institutions and experts to discuss mobility and the protection of rights.

The sessions on 3 and 4 December will examine the differences between national disability assessment systems, the continuity of social benefits, and the obstacles people with disabilities face when using transport.

During the second day, the Access City Award 2027 will be presented, recognising cities committed to making spaces, buildings and services accessible.

A special mention will go to local services that support independent living, enabling people with disabilities to live within their communities rather than in institutions.

For Attiva-Mente, fresh from taking part in Freedom Drive 2026, the trip will also be an opportunity to gather experiences and good practices to bring back to San Marino, in support of the implementation of the UN Convention.
