Simone Emiliano Pasculli named new conductor of San Marino’s Military Band

The Grand and General Council approves the appointment proposed by Secretary of State Luca Beccari, ahead of the current conductor's retirement in 2027.

Simone Emiliano Pasculli is the new conductor of San Marino’s Military Band. The Grand and General Council (Consiglio Grande e Generale) has approved the appointment proposed by Secretary of State Luca Beccari, ahead of the current conductor’s planned retirement on 1 February 2027.

Pasculli was identified by the Military Congress, which examined a shortlist of candidates put forward by the outgoing conductor. The selection followed established practice, weighing both professional experience and artistic qualities in relation to the Band’s activities.

The process, Beccari explained, must “assess not only the required professional background, but also form an artistic judgment on the candidate’s profile, considered in relation to the work of our militia’s Military Band.”

In presenting the nomination, the secretary also highlighted Pasculli’s career path and the works he has composed, performed and conducted as a band master. The review of his profile led to the proposal submitted to the Council, which was subsequently approved.
