Sammarinese championship: Tre Penne and Folgore keep perfect records, Virtus thrash Academy

Tre Penne and Folgore share top spot after five rounds, while Virtus crush San Marino Academy 5-0 and Cosmos edge Juvenes Dogana in the Serravalle derby.

Tre Penne continue their winning run and remain at the top of the Sammarinese Championship alongside Folgore. In the fifth round, Giovanni Bonini’s side defeated Domagnano 2-0, securing their fifth win in as many matches.

At the “Federico Crescentini” stadium, the blue-and-whites created numerous chances, hitting the woodwork twice. The deadlock was finally broken in the 79th minute with a powerful long-range strike from Ruiz, after Rigoni’s sending-off had left Domagnano down to ten men.

Five minutes later, Pieri doubled the lead, putting the match beyond doubt. In the closing stages, Ruiz struck the crossbar once again.

Virtus also claimed a resounding victory, thrashing San Marino Academy 5-0 in Acquaviva.

Muratori’s side took early control of the match through Madonna in the 10th minute and Amati in the 24th. Before the break, goals from Piscitella and Lisanti extended the lead to 4-0.

In the second half, Buonocunto converted a penalty in the 50th minute to seal the final 5-0 scoreline. The Academy had few opportunities and no real chance to get back into the game.

Cosmos, meanwhile, won the Serravalle derby, beating Juvenes Dogana 1-0 in a tightly contested match.

The decisive goal came from Nicola Sartini, who found the net against his former club with a header in the 75th minute, converting a corner kick delivered by Cremonini.

In stoppage time, Juvenes Dogana were also reduced to ten men after Amadori was sent off for a foul on Bottoni.

With these results, Tre Penne and Folgore remain level at the top with perfect records, while Virtus and Cosmos pick up valuable points in the standings.
