Rally Legend 2026 road closures in real time: Omni app maps out what’s shut right now, no ordinance required

A free app shows San Marino drivers exactly which roads are closed during rally week, and when, sparing them the fine print of official traffic orders.

The Rally Legend 2026 road closures can now be followed in real time on a map, straight from your phone: the free app Omni.sm displays the 15 affected stretches of road in San Marino, showing which ones are closed right now and which will be, complete with day and time, and thanks to geolocation tells you how many metres away you are from each one.

Translation: you no longer need to read the official traffic order just to find out if you can leave the house.

Which, let’s be honest, is the real sport of rally week.

Traffic ordinances are lists of streets, junctions and time windows where the boundary of a closure might be marked by a petrol station or a hardware shop, and residents are granted passage — this really happened, in a past edition — “from 4.55pm to approximately 5.10pm.” Precise, sure.

Easy to read at a red light? Not so much.

Omni does the dirty work. On the home screen, an alert appears — on Tuesday afternoon it read “3 roads closed now,” along with the affected period, from 2 to 12 October — and a single tap opens the traffic map: closed stretches marked in red, an arrow showing the direction of closure, and a street-by-street list.

Three closures were already in effect; on Via Olnano, for instance, a one-way restriction is scheduled from Thursday 8 October at 10am, the day the 24th edition of Rallylegend kicks off, running through Sunday 11 October.

The app is free, available for iPhone and Android, developed independently by three young Sammarinese: Federico Casadei, Giacomo Gualandi and Guido Lividini.

Launched in August, it now boasts over 800 downloads. Besides traffic updates, it also offers events, news, supermarket flyers, fuel prices and an AI assistant that answers questions about San Marino.

One caveat, which the app itself places at the top of the map: the information is indicative only, and official measures and on-site signage take precedence.

Omni is a private service, not an institutional channel.

The traffic order, in other words, is still the law. It’s just that now, people can actually understand it.
