Rallylegend 2026, Pedersoli triumphs as San Marino celebrates in the Historic class, Memorial Bettega dazzles

Luca Pedersoli and Anna Tomasi win the WRC category, while San Marino's Bonfè-Bizzocchi duo take the Historic class on home soil as the Memorial Bettega debut thrills crowds.

The competitive phase of Rallylegend 2026 has drawn to a close, with Sunday’s final stages and the debut of the Memorial Bettega, which brought some of international rallying’s biggest names back to San Marino.

In the WRC category, victory went to Luca Pedersoli and Anna Tomasi at the wheel of a Hyundai i20 N Rally1. Second place went to Nikolay Gryazin and Aleksandrov in a Lancia Ypsilon HF Integrale Rally2, ahead of Sammarinese pair Danilo Tomassini and Stefano Spadoni, who finished third in a Škoda Fabia Rally2 Evo.

In the Classic category, Hungarian driver Miklos Kazar triumphed alongside co-driver Tamas Begala in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo9. Behind them came Switzerland’s Il Valli in a BMW M3 and Uruguay’s Gustavo Trelles in a Subaru Impreza 555.

San Marino, meanwhile, celebrated victory in the Historic class, claimed by Nicola Bonfè and Massimo Bizzocchi in a Ford Escort RS. Simone Brusori and Tridici finished second in a Porsche 911, with Enrico Ercolani Volta and Daniele Conti taking third in a BMW 320 E21.

Fourth place went to Andrea Ercolani and Matteo Roggia, sons respectively of Sammarinese champion Massimo Ercolani and of Loris Roggia.

The Memorial Bettega also drew a large turnout, reviving the famous Area 48 challenges from the Bologna Motor Show. A particularly poignant moment came when Alessandro Bettega, son of Attilio Bettega, took to the track in a Lancia 037 Martini Racing, accompanied by Markku Alén and Miki Biasion.

In the final head-to-head battles, Dani Sordo beat Martins Sesks in the WRX category, while Nikolay Gryazin got the better of Tony Cairoli in Rally2. There were also wins for Andrea Aghini over Piero Liatti in Group A, and for Florian Rotter over Giorgio Mela in Group B.

Organisers struck a positive balance overall, highlighting strong public turnout and continued investment in safety.

Paolo Valli described this year’s edition as one of renewal, particularly demanding from an organisational standpoint, but also among the best in terms of the quality of the show on track.

Vito Piarulli also expressed satisfaction, pointing to the smooth running of the event and the positive results of the security measures put in place. He also praised the debut of the Memorial Bettega, while noting there remain a few aspects still to be refined.
