The Grand Hotel di Riccione has changed hands, following a fiercely contested auction marked by successive bids. The historic hotel was won by New Eden srl of Rimini, which offered 29.365 million euros, nearly 4.5 million more than the starting price of 24.864 million euros.
The property was fought over by two bidders, with minimum increments of 250,000 euros. The auction is part of the judicial liquidation of Marebello Spa, overseen by the Court of Rimini.
The mega-lot includes far more than just the historic Grand Hotel. The deal also encompasses Villa Bianca, the Magazzini building, Torre 900, Villa Bruna and the underground swimming pool, along with other properties that make up the extensive real estate holdings in Riccione’s seafront area, between Viale Milano, Viale Gramsci and the Lungomare della Repubblica.
For New Eden, a Rimini-based company active in real estate and urban regeneration, this is not its first major operation in the area: it had already won the auction for the former Bertazzoni colonies for 3.15 million euros.
The sale now opens a new chapter for one of Riccione’s landmark hotels, following the judicial liquidation of Marebello Spa launched in 2023 and the recent developments that have also placed the historic complex at the center of an investigation by the Rimini Public Prosecutor’s Office.
