The derby against San Giovanni gives Cailungo their first league win. The match could not have started any better for the red-and-green side. Depaoli whips in a corner and Cecconi volleys it home with the clock showing just 63 seconds of play. In that same opening spell Cailungo had already had another chance through Bua, denied by Pizzolante. At the quarter-hour mark San Giovanni wobble dangerously again: Cailungo break four against three and Valli Casadei’s shot at an empty goal is cleared almost off the line by Filippi. San Giovanni knock for the first time in the 20th minute: Zanni tries an overhead kick but fails to find the target, letting Filippo Tordella collect comfortably. At the other end, Costa combines with Bua and forces Pizzolante into another crucial save.
From the resulting throw-in, Cecconi lays the ball off for Bua, who scores a superb overhead-kick goal. In the 36th minute the number 9 comes close to a brace from another Cecconi flick-on, but this time — with the goal gaping in front of him — he blazes wastefully over. Zanni is not as clinical either, at the end of a San Giovanni counter-attack a minute later. In stoppage time, though, it takes a brave and well-timed rush from Pizzolante at Bua’s feet to keep San Giovanni within two goals. That resolve collapses in the 7th minute of the second half, when Cailungo grab their third goal once again from a throw-in. This time Bua flicks on the ball and Costa turns it into the net, beating both Filippi and Pizzolante to it. Past the hour mark, Pizzolante comes for a cross from the right and misjudges it, giving Zonzini the chance to tap in at an empty net, but he completely fluffs his left-footed effort. San Giovanni’s goalkeeper, however, is flawless when Bua bears down on him hungry for a second goal: the red-and-black keeper’s hands deny him the fourth. The match effectively ends there. Three goals and three points for Cailungo, who move level in the table with — among others — their opponents from the day.
Meanwhile, Tre Penne draw level at the top with Folgore, beating Juvenes Dogana 2-0 to maintain a perfect record just like the side from Falciano. Benedetti tries a header to unsettle the visitors from Città, who respond in kind: Colonna makes a crucial save on Casadio, set up by Peluso. The opening goal does not take long to arrive. Juvenes lose possession in midfield, Casadio immediately sends Pieri through on goal, and he goes one-on-one with Colonna, coolly slotting past him.
Shortly afterwards Cecchetti nearly scores against his former club, latching onto Benedetti’s low cross but firing wide with no one closing him down. Juvenes Dogana, however, keep pushing back against the deficit. They do so mainly through long-range efforts from Merli and Giacomo Borghini, both off target. Casadio does hit the target, but his left-footed strike is too central and Colonna saves without much trouble. The best save of the first half comes from Andreani just past the half-hour mark: Benedetti turns amid three defenders and gets almost into the six-yard box, but the Tre Penne keeper reads the situation early and denies his opponent a clean strike.
Having weathered that scare, Tre Penne turn dangerous again down the Scarcella-Peluso axis: an excellent cross from the former finds the latter, who fluffs his shot. Andreani has to produce another top-class save on Sartini, who had slipped through unmarked from a free-kick delivery. That proves to be the final act of a first half that Tre Penne close out narrowly in front. In the second half the league leaders go close immediately through Ceccaroli, who wins a loose ball and tries to curl a right-footed effort, but shoots straight at the keeper. Juvenes also try their luck with curling efforts: notably Cecchetti, whose right-footed shot skims just over the crossbar. Approaching the hour mark, Tre Penne are temporarily reduced to ten men for taking too long over a substitution. The situation does nothing to dampen the Biancoazzurri’s threat — quite the opposite, as they go close from a corner: Carrer rises unmarked and Colonna has to work overtime to keep Juvenes in the match. Juvenes’ reply comes from a corner of their own, or rather its aftermath: Giacomo Borghini delivers a perfect cross for Benedetti, who heads over.
The push from the white-and-red-and-blue side does not let up. Twice Amadori tries to bring the match in Acquaviva back to level terms: first with a weak turn-and-shot from the edge of the area, then with a flying effort off a cross from the left flank. Neither attempt finds the target. In the 70th minute comes the biggest chance for the equaliser. Pedini combines with Benedetti, who skips past Sottile and finds himself with plenty of goal to aim at — but he mishits the power on his left-footed shot and the chance goes begging. Tre Penne threaten again from a corner (Ruiz heads wide) and in the 88th minute they finally seal the win against Juvenes Dogana with a penalty converted by Ceccaroli, following a Carrer breakaway sparked directly by a long clearance from Andreani. Giovagnoli tries to keep up with the Tre Penne forward but ends up tripping him as soon as he enters the box. Ceccaroli does not send Colonna the wrong way, but his shot is precise enough to beat the Juvenes goalkeeper. Not without some struggle, Tre Penne come away with another win.
