Starting today, 16 September, the rules change for San Marino citizens intending to travel to Thailand. The Secretariat of State for Foreign Affairs has announced that the visa exemption for tourism purposes, which previously allowed stays of up to 60 days, is no longer in effect.
“San Marino citizens wishing to travel to Thailand for tourism purposes will therefore need to obtain a visa, which must be requested before departure,” the Secretariat of State reports.
The application must be submitted exclusively through the official e-Visa portal of the Thai authorities. Foreign Affairs also draws attention to the time required to obtain approval.
“It should be noted that the standard visa issuance procedure requires a minimum of 15 days for approval. Applicants are therefore advised to submit their request at least three weeks before their planned departure date, allowing sufficient time for the process to be completed,” the statement continues.
