The schedule for the 2026-27 San Marino futsal championship has been finalised: the season kicks off in mid-September, with defending champions Murata facing Folgore and Virtus opening against Cosmos.
The full statement:
A date for the San Marino Futsal Supercup has yet to be set, as it depends on the completion of work on the Futsal Arena. What is certain, however, is that it will not be this competition to open the 2026-27 San Marino futsal season. That honour goes to the league championship, whose fixtures were drawn this evening at the Casa del Calcio in Montecchio. The opening round has been brought forward compared to previous seasons: play will begin in mid-September, with the round likely to be spread across three different evenings.
Defending champions Murata will have barely any time to recover from their European exertions before diving into the defence of their title. Their first opponents will be Folgore, while runners-up Virtus will open the season against Cosmos. The opening round also features a double derby: Tre Fiori against Fiorentino, and Libertas against Cailungo.
Given the summer transfer activity, the openers for Domagnano and Juvenes Dogana look particularly demanding: the Lupi will face Pennarossa, who have strengthened their ranks by adding the quality — and the honours — of the Busignani-Protti duo, among others; the Biancorossoazzurri, meanwhile, take on Fiorita, who have brought in some of the best talent from Virtus, the side that last year challenged Murata for two of the three available trophies. San Giovanni will have a bye.
The fixture draw was also an opportunity to recall some of the most significant regulatory changes ahead of the new season. The first concerns the format of the San Marino Futsal Championship itself, which does away with the Preliminary Round, opening the post-season only to the top eight teams at the end of the regular season. The other major change concerns the Titano Futsal Cup: no draw was held for the national cup, whose first round will instead be determined by league standings at the end of the first half of the season. The winner of the two-legged tie will advance to the Final Eight, a spot in which will already be secured by the leader of the first half of the season — rather than, as in the past, by the title holders.
