The child who nearly drowned yesterday in the pool at the Centro Vacanze in Cailungo, San Marino, made it through the night without significant changes to his clinical condition. The boy, born in 2022 and living in Savignano sul Rubicone, remains hospitalized in the intensive care unit of Rimini’s Infermi hospital.
His condition is described as stable, though the situation remains delicate. The child is intubated and kept under pharmacological sedation, while doctors have withheld a prognosis.
The accident happened yesterday morning while the boy was at the facility with his parents and grandmother. When paramedics from the 118 emergency service arrived at the pool, the child was unconscious and resuscitation efforts were already underway, having been started by the lifeguard on duty.
After being resuscitated and stabilized, the boy was rushed to the Infermi hospital in Rimini, where he remains under close observation. The coming hours will be crucial in assessing how his condition develops.
