The trade unions CSdL, CDLS and USL are once again pressing for approval of the family bill, calling on the Government and all political forces to bring the measure to a vote at the very first useful session of the Grand and General Council (Consiglio Grande e Generale), scheduled for September. Their request is that the text be placed among the first items on the agenda, in order to speed up its final passage.
“The trade unions CSdL, CDLS and USL reiterate their request to the Government and to all political forces that the family bill be approved as soon as possible, at the very first useful Council session in September, by placing it among the opening items on the agenda,” reads the joint statement.
According to the unions, many families have long been waiting for concrete measures, including “the dozens of mothers who have publicly called for the law’s approval, so that the planned measures can be implemented as soon as possible.”
In the meantime, institutional discussions on the text have continued. “In the period following the meeting of the relevant Council Commission, talks continued between the trade unions, the Secretariat of State for Justice and the Family, and the majority, allowing further key regulatory elements to be agreed upon. It should be noted that meetings were also held with the opposition forces,” the three unions report.
At the end of this process of dialogue, CSdL, CDLS and USL express a positive assessment of the measure and call for its swift approval.
“We are therefore pleased with the content of this excellent piece of legislation in support of families and the birth rate, which can no longer be postponed,” concludes the statement signed by the three trade unions.
