The University of San Marino (Università degli Studi della Repubblica di San Marino) is taking part for the first time in a European joint master’s programme. The University will be a partner in TESI (Training and Education in Social Innovation), a course dedicated to social innovation that brings together a total of eight universities and academic institutions from seven countries.
The master’s programme will run from January 2027 to February 2028 as part of the Adriatic-Ionian territorial cooperation programme IPA Adrion, and will include, among other activities, a fifteen-day international internship. Applications are also open to San Marino citizens holding a master’s degree.
“The TESI master’s programme, which involves eight universities from seven different countries, addresses social innovation themes that make it particularly strategic for those working in fields that prioritise inclusion and solidarity, with a positive outlook for societies and communities,” reads the University’s statement. The areas covered include urban regeneration, services for people with disabilities, and initiatives aimed at migrants.
San Marino’s contribution will be led by professors Arianna Taddei and Riccardo Varini, who will oversee one of the ten modules included in the programme. This will consist of two days dedicated to “Community Design and Impact Evaluation for Social Innovation.”
The project also involves the University of Bologna, the IUAV in Venice, and the Universities of Belgrade, Tirana and Zagreb, together with the Science and Research Centre of Koper and the Hellenic Open University.
“For the first time, the University of San Marino is taking part in a European joint master’s programme — an advanced form of academic cooperation involving a joint degree and shared governance,” the University’s statement points out.
Applications will remain open until 28 September. There is no enrolment fee for the master’s programme, although a fee of 60 euros is required to cover administrative costs related to the application.
