San Marino’s national bocce team set off for the World Championships in Brazil

San Marino's bocce squad heads to Garibaldi, Brazil, for the Raffa Senior World Championships, aiming to build on its Mediterranean Games success.

San Marino’s national bocce team is heading to Garibaldi, Brazil, the city set to host the Raffa Senior World Championships.

Giada Paoletti, Stella Paoletti, Jacopo Frisoni and Enrico Dall’Olmo, accompanied by national team coach Marco Cesini, federation official Lorena Forcellini and physiotherapist Nicola Galli, will compete in the five disciplines on the programme. Following the opening ceremony, scheduled for Wednesday, 13 October at 6:00 pm local time, the San Marino athletes will take part in the women’s pairs, men’s pairs, the mixed pairs — in which they are the reigning world champions — and the women’s and men’s precision throw.

The 2026 World Championships will feature 22 nations in the men’s pairs and 20 in the women’s, while 24 nations will compete in the men’s precision throw and 22 in the women’s; the mixed pairs event will see 21 teams take part. Following their outstanding results at the Mediterranean Games in Taranto, the San Marino athletes have arrived well prepared and fully focused on their goals.
