Rimini, worker falls from scaffolding: 59-year-old airlifted in critical condition to Bufalini

A serious workplace accident on Monday afternoon in Rimini has left a 59-year-old construction worker in critical condition.

A serious workplace accident occurred on Monday afternoon in Rimini. A 59-year-old worker of Albanian origin fell from scaffolding while working at a building site in via Coletti.

The accident happened at around 1:30 pm. According to initial reports, the man was on the third level of the scaffolding when, for reasons still being investigated, he fell to the level below and was left unconscious.

The alarm was raised immediately, and an ambulance and medical car from the 118 emergency service arrived at the scene. Given the severity of his condition, a rescue helicopter was also called in from Ravenna.

The 59-year-old was resuscitated and stabilized by medical staff before being urgently airlifted to the Bufalini hospital in Cesena.

Patrol units from the Rimini police headquarters (Questura) also responded to the scene in via Coletti. Investigations are underway to reconstruct the dynamics of the accident and determine what caused the fall.
