Pope Leo XIV has arrived at the Rimini Meeting. After a morning spent in San Marino and a subsequent private stop in Pennabilli, the Pontiff reached the Rimini Fair in the afternoon for one of the most eagerly awaited moments of his visit to Romagna.
The helicopter carrying the Holy Father landed at the fairground at 2:55 pm. From there he made his way into the Meeting’s pavilions, where a jubilant crowd awaited him. Applause, greetings and raised phones accompanied Leo XIV as he moved through the corridors and halls of the event.
Among the first moments of the visit, shortly after 3 pm, was a stop at the exhibition dedicated to Saint Augustine, particularly meaningful for the Pontiff given his long-standing ties to the Augustinian Order.
The arrival at the Meeting came after a strictly private stop in Pennabilli, where Leo XIV met with the community of Augustinian nuns at the Monastery of Saint Anthony of Padua — a place he had already visited in 2005 and 2009, when he served as prior general of the Order of Saint Augustine.
The Pope’s day now continues in Rimini, with further Meeting engagements and other scheduled moments of the pastoral visit, marked from the early hours by an enthusiastic turnout of the faithful.
