After being embraced by crowds in the historic centre, Pope Leo XIV’s visit to San Marino continued in the Basilica del Santo, marking one of the morning’s most intimate and spiritual moments.
The Pontiff was welcomed by the Bishop of San Marino-Montefeltro, Monsignor Domenico Beneventi, and the rector Don Marco Mazzanti, before taking part in Eucharistic Adoration and the veneration of the relics of Saint Marinus.
It was a moment of prayer and reflection in this symbolic site of Sammarinese devotion, attended by priests, consecrated men and women, and representatives of the Diocese’s ecclesial community.
The stop at the Basilica thus stood as the spiritual heart of the visit to Mount Titano, with Leo XIV praying before the relics of the Saint who founded the Republic.
