A full house turned out at Terrazza Giorgia in Domagnano for the opening event of Pink October, the awareness campaign dedicated to breast cancer prevention promoted by Giorgia Boutique, the Soroptimist International Club of San Marino, and ASDOS, the San Marino Association of Women Treated for Breast Cancer (Associazione Sammarinese Donne Operate al Seno).
The initiative kicked off on Wednesday, October 7th with an evening of yoga led by instructor Sara Galassi, launching a full calendar of events planned throughout the month.
Organizers expressed satisfaction with the turnout, highlighting the community’s strong interest in initiatives dedicated to prevention and women’s health — efforts that are also backed by San Marino’s institutions.
The goal goes beyond raising awareness: it’s also about funding a concrete healthcare project. The Pink October events support a fundraising drive launched by ASDOS to purchase artificial intelligence software that aids in the early diagnosis of breast cancer, to be donated to San Marino’s State Hospital.
The tool is designed to assist medical staff in detecting the disease at an earlier stage.
Organizers thanked Sara Galassi and everyone who took part in the opening evening, helping to launch the campaign on a high note.
The program continues with four more events. Next up, on Tuesday, October 13th, is a fashion show, followed on October 15th by a session focused on body awareness.
On October 17th, participants will take a walk along the old railway route, paired with the presentation of the book “Maledetto Garbino” by Paola De Santis.
The calendar closes on Thursday, October 29th with a briscola card tournament.
