Italy and San Marino compare notes on the journey of women’s rights from 1946 to today, in a public conversation at the Cassa di Risparmio gallery.

Italy and San Marino compare notes on the path of women’s rights from 1946 to today. On Thursday, October 29 at 6 p.m., the Cassa di Risparmio Gallery in Piazzetta del Titano, in the City of San Marino, will host the event “Women. 80 years of progress… Italy and San Marino: rights, freedom, work and participation from 1946 to today”.

The discussion will explore past achievements and future prospects, comparing the trajectories of the two countries.

Speakers will include Elisabetta Belloni, ambassador and former secretary general of the Farnesina (Italy’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs); journalist Carmen Lasorella, former director general of RTV San Marino; and Valentina Rossi, a member of the Scientific Council of the San Marino Centre for Historical Studies (Centro Sammarinese di Studi Storici).

Also among the speakers will be Rosa Zafferani, honorary consul of Lithuania and former secretary of state across several legislatures, and Anna Finocchiaro, former Italian MP and government minister, who will be interviewed by Carmen Lasorella.

Starting October 27, the same venue will host the exhibition “Women of the Republic – Eighty Years of Progress in ANSA’s Chronicles, 1946–2026”, previously presented at the Embassy on the occasion of the National Day and the celebrations marking the eightieth anniversary of the Italian Republic.
