San Marino Innovation and ASI sign agreement on digital skills and cybersecurity

A new protocol links businesses, institutions and schools to boost San Marino's IT sector and train the next generation of tech professionals.

Strengthening San Marino’s IT sector by connecting businesses, institutions and education. That is the goal of the memorandum of understanding signed on 23 October by San Marino Innovation and the Sammarinese Association for Information Technology (ASI).

The agreement provides for workshops, internships, study projects and career guidance for students, alongside refresher courses for teachers. The initiatives will involve schools, universities and training bodies, bringing young people closer to the practical applications of technology and to employment opportunities.

The two organisations will also be able to work together on setting up an Observatory on the ICT sector and innovation, to monitor the industry’s development and help guide future initiatives and policies.

“With this agreement we are joining forces to grow San Marino’s ICT sector,” said Gian Angelo Geminiani, chairman of San Marino Innovation. “San Marino has the resources, the professionals and the expertise to become a benchmark for technological innovation.”

For ASI chairman Luca Gentilini, “This agreement represents an important opportunity to strengthen cooperation between San Marino Innovation and ASI, creating new synergies between institutions, businesses and the education sector.”

The protocol also includes technical support for institutional working groups and the study of regulatory proposals. Initiatives are planned for the public administration, citizens, businesses and professionals, with particular attention to cybersecurity and digital transformation.
