As of today, 26 October, the eight Rimini local police officers under investigation have been suspended from duty. The city council adopted the measure following the precautionary interdictory order issued by the preliminary investigations judge (gip) of the Rimini Court on 24 October.
The suspension is mandatory, as established by the national collective labour agreement, and stems from the temporary ban on carrying out any activity related to public office and public services.
The administration clarified that the eight employees had already been transferred out of the local police corps, reassigned to other administrative duties. The transfer had been ordered as soon as the Prosecutor’s Office first notified the city council of the case documents.
