From making the Superstrada safer to banning boar hunting with dogs (braccata), by way of parking, pedestrian crossings and sick pay for craftsmen, 14 Arengo petitions will come before San Marino’s Permanent Council Committee for Health, Territory and Environment on Monday, 19 October.
The public session is scheduled from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm at the Kursaal Congress Centre, chaired by Denise Bronzetti. The aim is to take stock of the measures adopted following the approval of requests submitted by citizens.
A substantial part of the proceedings will focus on road safety. Discussions will cover a comprehensive plan to make the Superstrada safer, improvements to the central reservation and lighting, as well as requested works along Strada Le Bruciate in Fiorentino and on the Canepa road.
The agenda also includes the safety of pedestrian crossings in Dogana’s Ausa Park, the construction of an overpass at Croce di Domagnano, and the installation of rumble strips to slow vehicles entering the State Hospital car park.
Traffic in the historic town centres also features, with requests to ban parking in Piazza della Libertà and to build a car park alongside the pedestrianisation of Montegiardino’s main square.
Two issues concern hunting: a proposal to ban boar hunting with dogs (braccata), and another calling for an end to the practice of seconding UGRAA officials to the San Marino Hunting Federation, while also asking the Federation to independently cover the costs of its headquarters and utilities.
On the welfare front, discussions will address daily sickness and maternity allowances for craftsmen and self-employed workers, with two petitions calling for corrections to calculation distortions and more adequate benefits.
Among the topics is also a proposal to establish a “Week of the Stars,” identifying an area in San Marino City equipped with telescopes and instruments for stargazing.
