San Marino’s Pink October: conference on women’s health, walk and yoga sessions

A conference on women's health during and after cancer treatment, a public walk and a free yoga course for patients mark Pink October 2026 in San Marino.

A conference on women’s health during and after cancer treatment, a public walk open to all citizens, and a free yoga course for patients. These are the three events of Pink October 2026 scheduled in San Marino starting October 16, part of the awareness campaign promoted by the Institute for Social Security (Istituto per la Sicurezza Sociale) together with local associations, dedicated this year to the memory of Mariella Mularoni.

The first event will take place on Friday, October 16 at 3 p.m., in the “Il Monte” Hall of the State Hospital, with the conference “After cancer, women – Fertility, menopause, sexuality and gynecological health in the oncological journey,” organized in collaboration with the San Marino Oncology Association (Associazione Oncologica Sammarinese). “The meeting will address aspects that can accompany women’s lives during and after cancer treatment, bringing together expertise in oncology, gynecology and psychology,” the statement reads.

Following institutional greetings and an introduction by Anna Maria Bugli, director of the ISS Onco-Hematology Unit, speakers will include Angela Toss, associate professor of Medical Oncology at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia; Giovanni Grandi, associate professor of Gynecology and Obstetrics at the same university; and Anna Nicolosi, psychologist and psychotherapist with AOS.

On Saturday, October 17 at 2:30 p.m., the Pink Walk will return, promoted by the San Marino Association of Women Who Have Undergone Breast Surgery (ASDOS) and open to the public. Participants will gather in the square outside Giorgia Boutique in Fiorina, from where a roughly four-kilometer route will begin. A snack offered by the association will follow at the end.

Starting Tuesday, October 20, the new program “Yoga for wellbeing” organized by AOS will also begin. “The sessions, free of charge, will run until December 10, every Tuesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to noon, in the ‘La Cicogna’ Hall of the State Hospital.” The classes, intended for cancer patients, will be led by Davide Telesca. For information and registration, call 0549 963132 or 366 845 2922.

Meanwhile, other events in the calendar continue. The exhibition “Anima e Corpo” at Palazzo SUMS will remain open daily until November 15, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Throughout October, the pink lighting of the Three Towers will also continue, alongside information, awareness and support initiatives.

The program involves the facilities and professionals of the ISS breast care pathway, the Cultural Institutes, AOS, ASDOS and the Soroptimist Club of the Republic of San Marino, with the support of MARLÙ and Giorgia Boutique, under the patronage of the State Secretariats for Health and Social Security and for Education and Culture.
