San Marino is overhauling its road network for Rallylegend 2026. Roads blocked off, parking areas off limits, one-way streets and access allowed only during specific time windows. The 24th edition of the event, scheduled from 8 to 11 October, brings with it a long list of traffic restrictions.
The measures affect Serravalle, Domagnano, Borgo Maggiore, Faetano, the City of San Marino, Chiesanuova and Fiorentino. Some closures have already been in effect for several days and will remain in force until Monday, 12 October.
In Serravalle, the Piazzale Giovanni Paolo II area will stay closed until midnight on Monday. Traffic will also be halted until Sunday on Via Rancaglia, near the stadium, in the Multieventi car parks and in several areas of Costa del Bello and La Ciarulla.
Restrictions are especially heavy in the La Ciarulla industrial zone, where closures also affect Strada Acquasalata, Strada dell’Assenzio, Via dei Cerri and surrounding streets. A one-way system running mountain-to-sea has also been introduced on Via Olnano.
On Friday, 9 October, from 7am to 4:30pm, traffic will also be blocked on Strada Ca’ Barigone, Strada dei Laghi, Strada dei Bugari, Strada di Casampino and Strada di San Michele. Residents may pass through until 8:15am and again between noon and 12:30pm.
Also on Friday, from 4pm until 1am, further closures will take effect between Borgo Maggiore, Faetano and Domagnano, with restrictions on Via Ranco, Strada Nona Gualdaria, Via Cà dei Lunghi and Via Auloceto. Residents and businesses may travel through until 6pm.
The historic centre will be locked down on Friday evening. From 7pm until 1:30am on Saturday, numerous streets in the City will be closed, including Piazza della Libertà, Contrada Omerelli, Contrada del Collegio, Contrada San Francesco, Via Eugippo and Piazzetta Garibaldi. Residents and authorised vehicles may enter until 7:45pm.
Also on Friday, from 4pm, closures will take effect between Baldasserona, Costa del Santo, Via Piana, Piazzale Calcigni and Piazzale Lo Stradone, with no-parking rules already in force from 1pm.
Saturday, 10 October will be a particularly difficult day for traffic in Serravalle and Fiorentino.
From 9am to 9:15pm, closures will affect, among others, Strada Ca’ Morri, Strada Fondo Rio, Strada di Valgiurata, Strada di Paderna and Strada di Monte Olivo. Residents and shopkeepers will have two transit windows: until 11:30am and from 3:50pm to 4:20pm.
In Fiorentino, from 9am to 10:30pm, restrictions will apply on Strada di Canepa, Strada del Lavoro, Ponte dei Mulini, Strada La Venezia, Via Ventun Settembre and Piazza Dodici Ottobre. Access will be allowed until 12:30pm and between 4:40pm and 5:10pm.
On Sunday, 11 October, restrictions will be concentrated mainly between Borgo Maggiore and Domagnano. From 7am to 4:30pm, traffic will stop on Strada del Fosso, Strada Cà Tonelli, Strada Agnellino da Piandavello and other streets in the area.
Closures will also hit the centre of Borgo Maggiore, from 7am to 3:30pm, with restrictions on Piazza Mercatale, Piazza Grande, Piazza di Sopra and the surrounding streets. Residents will be able to pass through until 9am.
For many of the affected roads, reopening will depend on the passage of the last competing car. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, timings may shift by up to 30 minutes.
Alternative routes will be signposted across the area, with exemptions for residents, businesses and authorised vehicles according to the time slots set for each zone.
