San Marino is launching its seasonal flu vaccination campaign. The first appointment is set for Thursday, 8 October, when the State Hospital will offer walk-in vaccinations with no booking required, as part of the first Open Day organised by the Social Security Institute (ISS).
Access will be free from 9am to 4:30pm at the vaccination clinic, located on floor -1, stairwell F, of the State Hospital.
“The flu vaccine is recommended for everyone, and particularly for children up to age 6, pregnant women, healthcare workers, people over 60 and those with acute or chronic conditions,” the ISS explains in its statement.
The campaign aims to reduce the impact of flu, especially among the most vulnerable groups. “Getting vaccinated helps lower the risk of flu-related complications, protect the most fragile members of the community, and ease the strain of respiratory viruses on healthcare services during the winter months,” the statement reads.
Following the 8 October session, a second walk-in Open Day is already scheduled for Thursday, 12 November, again from 9am to 4:30pm at the same location.
Several additional sessions requiring a booking through the CUP system are also planned, by calling 0549 994889. Appointments are available on 22 and 29 October, 19 and 26 November, and 3 and 17 December, all from 9am to 4:30pm.
A separate schedule has been arranged for paediatric patients. These sessions, also by appointment through the CUP, will take place on 19 and 30 October and 20 and 27 November, from 2pm to 6pm.
