They allegedly built several Molotov cocktails and tested their offensive capability inside an abandoned industrial warehouse in Pesaro. Four young people have become the focus of an investigation coordinated by the Pesaro Prosecutor’s Office. Two of them live in the provinces of Rimini and Bologna.
The searches were carried out by carabinieri from the Investigative Unit of Pesaro and Urbino, supported by local units. The alleged events date back to February 2026, when the four are said to have tested the homemade devices, causing several instances of burning and detonation.
The investigation stemmed from surveillance of the area, certain related websites and connected social media profiles. During the operations, computers, tablets and smartphones were seized and are now undergoing technical analysis. Paper documents containing instructions on how to build and use incendiary devices were also found.
According to investigators, the young people are believed to have ties to student collectives and radical fringe groups. However, their ultimate goal remains unclear: authorities are trying to determine whether this was a preparatory act meant to gain greater standing within radical circles, or whether it was part of the possible planning of more organized demonstrative actions. All those under investigation are presumed innocent.
