Attendance has grown compared to 2025, with an increase in the number of Italian groups and associations choosing the facility for their stays. This is the balance sheet of the 2026 summer season at the Casa per ferie San Marino in Pinarella di Cervia, visited in the closing phase of its activity by the Captains Regent Alice Mina and Vladimiro Selva.
The Captains Regent’s visit provided an opportunity to meet guests, staff and organisers at the facility, which has for years served as a holiday destination for families, the elderly, young people and people with disabilities from the Republic. Welcoming the Captains Regent were the Secretary of State for Health and Social Security Massimo Andrea Ugolini, the Honorary Consul of San Marino in Ravenna Marino Forcellini, the Director of the Territorial and Social-Health Department Pierluigi Arcangeli, and the ISS administrator of the holiday home Riccardo Vergari.
The season, which began on 8 June, recorded an increase in guest numbers compared to last year. “There was also growth in the number of Italian groups and associations choosing Pinarella for their stays, recognising the holiday home as a place attentive to hospitality, organisation and the quality of services offered,” the statement reads.
“This year’s results confirm the value of the holiday home as a place of welcome, connection and participation,” notes administrator Riccardo Vergari. “The rise in attendance and in the number of groups choosing Pinarella rewards the day-to-day work of organisation, attentiveness to guests and care for relationships. Alongside the summer stay, the facility offers experiences that foster independence, socialisation and wellbeing, with particular attention paid to young people with disabilities and their families.”
During the various sessions, parties, themed evenings, events and outings were organised, along with workshops and days at the seaside aimed especially at young people with disabilities. These activities were designed to promote guests’ socialisation, independence and wellbeing.
“This facility is a valuable resource for the Republic,” states Secretary of State Massimo Andrea Ugolini, “because it offers a space where hospitality, inclusion and attention to the most vulnerable become concrete experiences. This year’s growth confirms the value of a service that supports families, the elderly, young people and people with disabilities, contributing to the wellbeing and participation of the San Marino community.”
The value of the experience was also highlighted by ISS Director General Claudio Vagnini. “For the ISS, the Casa per ferie San Marino is a place where the summer stay also becomes an opportunity for connection, independence and trust. The work carried out over these months, particularly with young people with disabilities, shows how much hospitality can be part of a broader path of care for the individual. I thank the staff, the organisers and everyone who helped make this season a meaningful experience for the guests and their families.”
