San Marino marks Fiorentina’s 100th anniversary with commemorative stamp

Poste San Marino will issue a special stamp on 29 August 2026 to celebrate a century of ACF Fiorentina's history.

A hundred years of purple history are becoming a stamp. Poste San Marino is celebrating the centenary of ACF Fiorentina with a special philatelic issue that will be available from 29 August 2026, on the very date that marks the club’s foundation.

The Florentine club was founded in 1926 at the initiative of Marquis Luigi Ridolfi Vay da Verrazzano, through the merger of Club Sportivo Firenze and Palestra Ginnastica Libertas. The aim was to create a team capable of representing Florence at the highest levels of Italian football.

Over the course of a century, Fiorentina has built a history rich in achievements, from its first Coppa Italia won in the 1939-1940 season to its two Scudetti, along with other domestic trophies and notable European campaigns, all underpinned by a deep bond with the city and its fans.

To mark the centenary, Poste San Marino will produce a souvenir sheet made up of four stamps, each with a face value of 1.35 euros, with a total print run of 20,000 copies. The artwork, curated by ACF Fiorentina, depicts a player wearing the club’s traditional purple jersey next to the fleur-de-lis, the symbol of both the club and the city of Florence.

The issue will be available for purchase from 29 August on the Poste San Marino website and at the Philatelic and Numismatic Shop at Piazzetta Garibaldi 5, in San Marino Città. The stamps will be printed by Cartor Security Printing using four-colour offset printing with invisible fluorescent yellow ink.
