Tre Penne kick off with a win as Libertas snatch a late leveler against Cosmos

Tre Penne beat San Giovanni 3-2, while Libertas denied Cosmos victory with a stoppage-time equalizer in San Marino's opening league round.

Tre Penne started the season with a win, while Cosmos saw victory slip away right at the death. Saturday’s opening round of the 2026-27 Sammarinese Championship produced a 3-2 win for the blue-and-whites over San Giovanni, along with a 1-1 draw between Cosmos and Libertas.

In Montecchio, it was San Giovanni who broke the deadlock early, with Zanni scoring after just five minutes. Tre Penne responded and turned the game around before the break: Casadio leveled in the 38th minute, before Loiodice made it 2-1 with a long-range strike.

In the second half, the red-and-blacks fought back into the match thanks to D’Orsi, who found the 2-2 equalizer shortly after the hour mark. The decisive blow came from Kamouni in the 75th minute: having only just come on, he capitalized on Pieri’s work and beat Casadei to make it a final 3-2. Three points, then, for Bonini’s side, while San Giovanni left empty-handed despite staying in the contest until the very end.

It was a bitter finish, meanwhile, for Cosmos against Libertas. After a goalless first half featuring chances at both ends, the yellow-and-greens took the lead in the 67th minute: Cremonini received the ball from Sartini and fired home the opener with a precise curling left-footed shot.

Cosmos, however, failed to see out the win and were punished right at the 90th minute. From the development of a Morelli free kick, Melandri got ahead of Semprini to set up Vandi, who slotted home the equalizer for the final 1-1.

The opening round wraps up on Sunday with Virtus-La Fiorita and Tre Fiori-Pennarossa, both kicking off at 3 p.m.
