San Marino on screen as “Tornando a Est” heads to New York

The film, partly shot in San Marino with support from the film tourism project, will be screened at the Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò on October 22.

“Tornando a Est” will be screened in New York on Thursday, October 22 at 7 p.m., at the Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò. The film was partly shot in San Marino, with support from the Secretariat of State for Tourism through the film tourism project.

Produced in 2025 by Cesena-based Stradedellest, led by Maurizio Paganelli and Andrea Riceputi, the film has reached more than 300 Italian cinemas. It has also been distributed across Eastern Europe and on Swiss television, achieving solid box-office results in Bulgaria.

Another opportunity for visibility comes from “Alberto Sordi Secret,” which, according to the Secretariat, has held the top spot in Prime Video Italy’s documentary film category for four consecutive weeks.

For Federico Pedini Amati, the New York screening confirms the value of cinema in promoting the territory and attracting new productions. Coordinating the filming in San Marino was Fabrizio Raggi, head of the film tourism project, who oversaw relations between the production crew and local stakeholders.
