San Marino shooting season resumes with strong results in Santarcangelo, Prota and Gasperoni shine

San Marino’s shooting season has resumed after the summer break, with the national team taking part in the 4th Trofeo Città di Santarcangelo di Romagna.

Among the standout performers for the white-and-blue athletes was Valerio Massimo Prota, who claimed victory in the Youth category with a score of 561/600, also earning him the overall silver medal. Prota had further reason to celebrate by teaming up with Marco Gasperoni to win the team event with 1,107 points, finishing ahead of the Santarcangelo and Bologna squads, who completed the podium. Gasperoni took second place in the men’s individual event with a score of 546/600, while Silvana Parenti shot 540/600 to secure second place in the women’s category. Among the Masters, Maria Luisa Menicucci took first place in the women’s event.

The San Marino Shooting Federation (Federazione Sammarinese Tiro a Segno) is already looking ahead to a busy calendar: the Winter Championship will kick off on 24-25 October in Vergato, in the province of Bologna, with a second round following in the second week of November. The Gran Premio San Marino is scheduled for 28-29 November, after which Maria Luisa Menicucci, Agata Riccardi and Valerio Massimo Prota will take part in the Italian Absolute Championship.
