Single and double rooms to be made available to university students. San Marino has launched a search for accommodation across the territory to meet the growing number of students enrolling in bachelor’s and master’s degree programs.
The initiative involves the University, the Secretariat of State for Territory and Environment, and other relevant Secretariats, while planning for dedicated student housing continues in parallel.
Accommodation facilities and owners of homes or portions of buildings may take part, provided the spaces are legally designated for such use.
The search focuses primarily on the City of San Marino, Borgo Maggiore and Serravalle, though availability will be assessed across all the Castelli. Students housed in participating facilities will have transport links to university campuses via the SMUVI bus service.
The contract will be drawn up directly between the person offering accommodation and the student. For those deemed suitable, an agreement may also be signed with the University and the relevant Secretariats.
“The growth of the University represents a strategic opportunity for the country and calls for concrete responses on the housing front as well,” said Secretary of State Matteo Ciacci.
“While we continue planning the student housing envisaged under the new land-use planning law, we want to make the most of existing availability right away, with clear conditions for students and guaranteed connections to university campuses.”
Interested parties can contact the University directly for assistance on how to take part. Further information is available at www.unirsm.sm.
