San Marino is taking part in the 24th Autumn Meeting of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, held from 7 to 9 October in Andorra. Representing the Republic will be Councillors Oscar Mina, head of delegation, Sara Conti and Michele Muratori.
At the heart of the proceedings are the new challenges facing the OSCE region and the need to strengthen cooperation among member states. Discussions will involve the three general committees dedicated to security and political affairs, economy and environment, and democracy and human rights.
Several issues are on the agenda, ranging from strengthening multilateralism to energy security, as well as efficiency and sustainability. Attention will also be given to the consequences of digital transformation, with an in-depth look at artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and hybrid threats, particularly in relation to protecting the most vulnerable people.
On the sidelines of the assembly, a meeting is also planned among the delegations of small European states, focused on dialogue and cooperation. The programme will conclude with the Mediterranean Forum, centred on the role of parliamentary dialogue in promoting security, stability and collaboration in the region.
