Around 200 declarations have already been submitted by citizens in the first days of the trial run of the ICEE, the Indicator of Economic Condition for Equity (Indicatore della Condizione Economica per l’Equità) introduced in San Marino. The figure emerged during the fourth meeting of the Observatory (Osservatorio), held on Tuesday, 13 October.
At the centre of the meeting were the first Wealth and Income Declarations (Dichiarazioni Patrimoniali e Reddituali, DPR) submitted by those applying for benefits and allowances affected by the trial phase, which began on 1 October.
For now, the new system applies to support for the right to education, the Supplementary Family Allowance, registration on employment placement lists, the minimum monthly family income, and social tariffs for household utilities.
During the meeting, officials examined the initial data collected by the ICEE Section established within the Tax Office (Ufficio Tributario), together with observations arising from the application of the new tool.
Changes to the current rules have not been ruled out. The Observatory’s assessments will in fact help identify any necessary adjustments, whether through updates to the implementing decrees or through possible amendments to the law governing the ICEE.
