Three sessions in one week for San Marino’s council committees. From Monday 12 to Friday 16 October, at the Kursaal Congress Centre, lawmakers return to discuss some of the key issues on the Sammarinese political agenda, starting with the Association Agreement with the European Union.
Proceedings open on Monday 12 October, from 9am to 4pm, with a joint session of the Constitutional Affairs and Foreign Affairs committees, chaired respectively by Oscar Mina and Michele Muratori.
At the heart of the discussion will be a report from Secretaries of State Andrea Belluzzi and Luca Beccari on the progress of initiatives and obligations linked to the Association Agreement with Brussels. A debate among committee members will follow.
On Wednesday 14 October, from 9am to 1pm, it will be the turn of the Foreign Affairs and Health-Territory committees, led by Michele Muratori and Denise Bronzetti.
This session will focus on gender-based violence, continuing discussions on updated data regarding cases recorded in the Republic. The in-depth review follows the motion approved by the Grand and General Council (Consiglio Grande e Generale) on 21 July.
Expert Monia Mazza is also expected to take part in the proceedings.
Finally, on Friday 16 October, from 8:30am to 1pm, the Special Committee for Institutional Reforms, chaired by Filippo Tamagnini and Nicola Renzi, will meet.
Here too, attention will centre on the Association Agreement with the European Union, with a hearing involving the Secretaries of State for Internal Affairs and Foreign Affairs, followed by political discussion.
All three sessions will be open to the public and held at the Kursaal. It will be a week in which the European path takes centre stage in two separate institutional discussions, alongside an in-depth look at gender-based violence.
