The relationship between San Marino and China also runs through dialogue between legislators. Councillor Manuel Ciavatta took part in the Forum on Friendship Exchanges, held in China from 10 to 15 October and organised by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC).
The invitation had been extended to the San Marino-China Friendship Association, which put forward Ciavatta, a friend of the association and of its long-time president, Gian Franco Terenzi.
It was precisely in memory of Terenzi that the councillor dedicated his speech, retracing the public commitment he had shown in strengthening ties between the Republic and China — work that continues today through the association’s activities, with the involvement of the Chinese Embassy in Rome.
The forum took place in the year marking the 55th anniversary of official relations between San Marino and China. At the heart of the meeting was dialogue between representatives of various countries and the opportunity to turn such exchanges into concrete avenues for cooperation.
