The original cars, the great protagonists of those years, and two names that marked the history of Italian rallying. Rallylegend 2026 pays tribute to Sandro Munari and Alex Fiorio with two special events bringing to Titano some of the most important cars of their careers.
The first tribute will be dedicated to Sandro Munari, who passed away on 27 February at the age of 85. At the Rallylegend Village, five of his original cars will be brought together, starting with the Lancia Stratos with which the “Drago” won the Monte Carlo Rally in 1977. Alongside it will be the Stratos from the 1975 Safari Rally, the Lancia Fulvia Barchetta from the 1969 Mugello Rally, the Fiat 131 Abarth from the 1978 Sanremo Rally, and the Lancia Fulvia HF from the 1973 European Rally Championship.
The centrepiece of the tribute will take place on Friday 9 October at 4pm, with the “Munari Tribute” exhibition presented by Nicola Villani. Joining the celebration will be champions such as Markku Alén, Miki Biasion, Stig Blomqvist and Franco Cunico. During the event, the book “Corso Marche 38: Il Regno degli Uomini Ombra”, dedicated to the history of the Fiat-Lancia racing department, will also be presented.
On Saturday 10 October at 11am, the Rallylegend podium will instead be dedicated to Alex Fiorio, who recently passed away. The son of Cesare Fiorio, Alex won the World Group N title in 1987 with the Lancia Delta HF 4WD, and in 1989 finished the World Championship in second place behind Miki Biasion.
Once again, the cars will help tell the story: from the Lancia Delta 4WD from the 1987 Sanremo Rally to the Fiat Uno Turbo used at the 1986 Monte Carlo Rally, as well as the BMW 318 is and the Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart.
Leading the tribute will be Claudia Peroni, together with Gigi Pirollo, Miki Biasion, Markku Alén, Andrea Aghini, Andrea Navarra, Piero Longhi and Piero Liatti.
«These are two different tributes, but with the same spirit: bringing back to life the cars and the protagonists who made rally history», explains organiser Paolo Valli.
Vito Piarulli echoes the sentiment: «Sandro Munari and Alex Fiorio wrote fundamental chapters in the history of Italian rallying. We want to remember them in front of the fans, with their cars and with the people who shared those years with them».
