“Il Nuovo Titano”, the historic periodical of the San Marino socialist movement, makes its return. The PSD has entrusted its relaunch to the party’s youth wing, with Anastasia Merli taking the helm as director.
The first issue centres on the Association Agreement with the European Union. The cover features the Statue of Liberty holding the European flag, alongside the date 19 October ’26, set for the signing.
PSD secretary Luca Lazzari recalled the publication’s long history, founded in 1903, and its role in shaping San Marino’s democracy. The last edition was published in 2006, under the direction of Fausta Morganti.
“Same roots, new horizons,” said Merli. The project refreshes the magazine’s format and language while preserving its historical connection. GenSm secretary Tommy Fantini highlighted the energy driving the youth group’s efforts.
Among the contents are an interview with Foreign Affairs Secretary of State Luca Beccari and a piece by Gerardo Giovagnoli reflecting on his relationship with the institutions, international politics and Europe.
The issue also addresses citizenship, end-of-life care and animal welfare, featuring contributions from councillors Silvia Cecchetti, Donatella Merlini and Ilaria Bacciocchi, as well as coverage of young people, project groups and San Marino’s achievers.
The edition further includes a section on San Marino citizens abroad and a tribute dedicated to the memory of Alvaro Selva. It closes with a dialect comic strip by Mario Angiuioni, known by his stage name Snaporaz. The cover artwork is by Davide Pagliardini, complete with a QR code linking to the magazine’s website.
