Metsola at the Rimini Meeting: “A difficult moment, people must be at the centre”

European Parliament President Roberta Metsola calls for courage in facing today's global challenges, urging Europe to keep people at the heart of every decision.

Roberta Metsola at the Rimini Meeting called on Europe to rise to the responsibility posed by a complex international situation. The President of the European Parliament, a key speaker on the event’s closing day, spoke on the sidelines of the Rimini gathering.

“We are going through a very important, very difficult moment. But we have both the opportunity and the responsibility to face these challenges with courage,” Metsola said.

The European Parliament President also stressed the need to assess past choices clearly and correct course when necessary: “To say things as they are, to say what we have done well, and also to say if we need to adjust something, so as to never forget to put people at the centre of everything we do.”

Metsola is among the leading figures on the final day of the Rimini Meeting, which will close with her address.
